So what's going on? The spawn portal is in the watchtower tucked away in a random wall in the overworld and in the nether its in a really ugly room stuck next to the nether hub made by jowran. Sorry for ranting, but this isn't really the best setup in the world.

I moved it into the watchtower, because we wanted to move the nether portal up for easy access to the nether hub.

did not think hieght had a bearing when syncing portals, just so long as the x and z are good ( overworld coords divided by 8 when in nether).
