I've been thinking about doing some PVP ladder matches. No, I'm not talking about "King of the ladder". I'm talking about pairs of two, competing against each other under controlled conditions. Winners proceed to the next duel until only one is left.
So here are my brainfarts about this. Feel free to add your own:
- first all who are interested sign up and players are randomly paired together
- then we need some sort of arena; area should be flad and surrounded by some sort of wall
- the fighters may equip themselves with unenchanted iron armor and weapons; no potions or other fancy stuff [optional to spice it up: each may choose one potion of his liking, only tier 1 potions though]
- each fighter also gets one [half?] stack of dirt and one minute to place the dirt [in his half of the arena]; if there are blocks left, the fighter may use them during the fight
- there are 3 rounds; best of 3 advances to the next tier of the ladder match
- winner of the final tier is crowned 'Jack's Duelist Champion' ... oooor something like that. Maybe one of the rich guys on the server can sponsor a prize
- This could take place whenever the duelists have time, no need to do it all in one go. As a longterm event it may keep things even more interesting. Also we don't have to care about timing.
